Ever wanted to have a castle party with a few of your closest friends in a real English castle? Castle Trinity is a 19th century castle in the Peak District which lets you live out your own fairytale . You get a castle rental set in 12 lush acres from the property group, Unique Home Stays. Castle Trinity was the winner of Channel 5’s television competition program “I Own Britain’s Best Home” in 2008. And, it’s easy to see why. I’d be bragging about this castle if it were my home, too. It’s so lovely though that I’d be loathe to let it be a castle for hire.

A Castle Rental Like No Other
When you thought self-catering accommodation in the Peak District, you didn’t think it would involve a castle option did you? This super-cute castle is small enough to make a charming rental home with all the modern facilities you would want.
The castle has a near endless list of amenities both traditional and modern. For example, the castle grounds border a deer park, rowing lake, cobbled courtyard and water mill. Overlooking all the charming courtyard and water mill though is a barbecue area and a hot tub. Inside the castle are the usual sweeping staircases but also a heated swimming pool.

The castle has four bedrooms and four bathrooms (two ensuite). All four bedrooms have king-size beds. One of the showers is built into a castle turret! In the family bathroom, you can lounge in the bathtub and watch television. The whole look is stylish and luxe. After an 11 year renovation which cost £1million, you would expect no less.

The History of the Castle
Why is it so small you may wonder? The castle was originally built as a folly (in architectural terms an ornamental building with no real use) by a wealthy local mill owner. Yes, those crazy Victorian wealthy people. They wanted a pretty view across the fields from their own home and so built this castle for visual interest. The castle eventually fell into disrepair before it was recently renovated.

Renting The Castle
Castle Trinity is located near Huddersfield between Manchester and Leeds. It is a 3 hour drive from London. The Peak District National Park is nearby with its 500+acres of outstanding beauty.

Despite the king-size beds and the velvet everywhere, Castle Trinity accepts children and dogs as guests.
