The most expensive suite in Vegas (and possibly the most expensive suite in the world) is at the Vegas Palms Casino. The Palms Las Vegas Suites are already OTT so what can be the cherry on top? The Empathy Suite in the Palms Sky Villa in the Palms Fantasy Tower doubles as a Damien Hirst Gallery and is filled with priceless art. The extravagant suite though does have a price – $100K a night! For that you get two bedrooms set over two floors and several amazing pieces of art including three versions of the Damien Hirst cabinet and Damien Hirst spots gracing your terrace. It’s similar to the Abu Dhabi Suite in that the suite is dedicated to the client’s comfort such as massages, yet this Palms Sky Villa is unabashedly contemporary. So let’s check out the most expensive suite in Las Vegas!
Vegas Palms Casino
The Vegas Palms Casino has undergone an extensive $690 million renovation to amp up its cool factor. It’s now got one of the best modern and contemporary art collections in any hotel in the USA with pieces by Warhol, Basquiat and other artists. So it makes sense that the most expensive suite in Las Vegas was designed by another modern artist, Damien Hirst, who rose to prominence in the 1980s.
The Vegas Palms Casino is at the end of the Vegas Strip near The Venetian and The Bellagio. It’s got three towers, the Palms Place Tower, the Fantasy Tower and the Ivory Tower. There are 1200 Palms Hotel rooms with all the luxury suites in the middle tower, the Palms Fantasy Tower. With all the glass walls, you get amazing views over the twinkling lights of the city.
Palms Las Vegas Suites
As with most things in Vegas, there is a pecking order. With the vast array of rooms on offer – there are guest rooms, Palms Las Vegas Suites, Palms Sky Villa, Theme Suites and penthouses – you’ll feel like you are at one of the famous Vegas buffets with such a tempting array but where to start.
For example, even with among the 6 of the Palms Sky Villa, there is a hierarchy among the suites You get the one story villa, the two story villa and then the most expensive suite in Vegas, the Empathy Suite. The other Palm Sky Villa suites, other than the Empathy Suite, range in price from $25,000-$50,000.
Or which Palms theme room do you feel like – the Kingpin Theme Suite which comes with its own bowling alley or the Hardwood Theme Suite which comes with its own basketball court?
To make it easier, let’s just go with the most expensive suite in Vegas. When you are in Vegas, you go big, or you go home.
Most Expensive Suite in Vegas
The Empathy Suite is the most expensive suite in Vegas and possibly the most expensive suite in the world! Before the Vegas Palm Casino renovation from 2006-12, this suite was named after Hugh Hefner and rented at merely $40,000 a night. If only those walls could talk….
It’s billed at $100,000 a night (with a two night minimum stay). Alternatively, if you’ve got a million dollar line of credit at the Vegas Palms Casino, the Empathy Suite is free of charge.
It’s 9000 square feet over two floors with two bedrooms (and two massage rooms naturally). There’s also a media lounge, bar and fitness center (with a Peloton bike for you fitness freaks). There is also a Himalayan Salt room for treatments.
Along with the suite, you get perks like a private butler, A-list acess to the Vegas Palms casino night club and a private tour of the artworks at the hotel.
The dining area is for 8 guests but the bar can seat up to 17 people. Sealed within the bar is a display of medical waste. More Hirst quirky cool.
And what I think is the coolest bit? A glass pool and hot tub on the terrace that cantilevers over the side of the building over the Vegas strip. Of course, my kids would have said they needed to add the pool slide that went from the bedroom on the top floor of the suite straight into the pool.
Damien Hirst Gallery
So what makes this suite so OTT? It’s practically a Damien Hirst Gallery with 6 works from the artist. And, this bad boy of British art has his work priced at tens of millions of dollars. Hirst is known for his pop art style which puts everyday objects into these of nature and decay.
Damien Hirst calls this Palms Sky Villa “Empathy” because you are supposed to feel empathy for everyone while immersed in the room. Especially in the morning after a party that would make the Hangover Movie boys envious.
You get a ‘best of’ Hirst feeling at the Empathy suite – pharmaceuticals, formaldehyde-preserved animals, skulls, butterflies, spin paintings and dots.
One of the artist’w early works was a Damien Hirst medicine cabinet installation. The Empathy Suite plays homage to this history with a medicine cabinet studded with diamonds . Ok, like the rest of Vegas where there’s more flash than substance, the Damien Hirst medicine cabinet doesn’t have real diamonds – all that sparkle is cubic zirconia.
Hirst is also famous for his 1991 artwork of animals suspended in formaldehyde. At the Empathy suite, this sensibility is expressed as is two sharks suspended in formaldehyde. There are probably cheaper ways of visiting a Damien Hirst gallery but none so fun!
And there are butterflies everywhere because Hirst is also known for his butterly works. Even in the pool mosaics.
Speaking of pool, note the 240 colored Damien Hirst spots are all over the columns in the pool.
